"NRC just released its proposed rule "to reform and modernize its radiation protection framework." As NIA laid out in its February 24th blog, we believe any changes the U.S. makes in its radiation protection framework should be based on the best available scientific information and done through a process that maintains public trust. We will be evaluating the rule against the two key criteria included in President Trump's executive order: (1)Will it help reestablish the United States as the global leader in nuclear energy? And, (2) Will it maintain the United States' leading reputation for nuclear safety?"
